  1. Founded in Warsaw, Poland as ABC Medicover

    The first few years saw the opening of 3 health centres in Warsaw and in 6 more cities across Poland. We established our first on-site occupational clinic in Krakow.

    By 2008 we had grown to 19 health centres throughout Poland, 25 on-site occupational health Clinics, one rehabilitation center, and 500+ network partners.

    Today, Medicover Poland serves 4,920 companies, 280,200 members (plus an additional 200,000 fee-for-service patients), and employs 2,700, of whom 2,500 are medical professionals.


 

  1. Launch operations in Hungary

    We began with the first Medicover health centre in Budapest, and by 2008 we had expanded to 3 health centres, 8 on-site occupational health clinics, and 300+ network partners located throughout the country.

    Today, Medicover Hungary serves 900 companies, 42,000 members, and employs 170, of whom 135 are medical professionals.


 

  1. Launch operations in Romania

    Our operations in Romania began with the purchase and merger of Rombel Medical Laboratories and Brimax International Medical Centre. Over the next dozen years, four additional health centres were added in Bucharest and in 4 other cities. During this time Rombel maintained its laboratory business, which merged in 2004 with Nova Medical Polska to form Synevo.

    Today, Medicover Romania serves 65,000 members, (plus an additional 75,000 fee-for-service patients), and employs 400, more than half of whom are medical professionals.


 

  1. Launch operations in Estonia

    We acquired a majority stake in a growing occupational health company, Rootsi-Eesti Tervisekeskus AS, in Tallinn, and expanded its services to include Medicover's extensive preventive and medical benefit plans. Since 1998 we have grown to 7 health centres in 6 cities. We operate a unique mobile health clinic system used for on-site health examinations and diagnostic tests.


 

  1. Launch operations in the Czech Republic

    We opened our first health centre in Prague with the purchase of Prvni Prazska Zdravotni, and our services now extend to 3 health centres (in Prague and Brno), and 7 on-site occupational health clinics.

    Today in the Czech Republic members serves 350 companies, 35,000 Members, and employs 180, of whom 120 are medical professionals.


 

  1. Synevo Diagnostic Laboratory Division created from Medicover Rombel (Romania) and Nova Medical Polska (Poland) and expands services to Ukraine.


 

  1. Purchase IMD Laboratories serving eastern Germany.


 

  1. Launch operations in Slovakia

    The new Medicover Centre opened in in Bratislava in January, with a medical staff of 15, and four network partners.

      First Medicover Hospital opens in Warsaw in June

Today:

In just 14 years Medicover has grown from one small health centre in Warsaw to now encompass 2 Hospitals, 80 health centres, 1,000+ network partners and a growing chain of diagnostic 37 laboratories in eight countries. We are responsible for the medical care and occupational health services of over 5,000 companies and nearly half a million patients.

The future:

First Cancer Centre opens in Warsaw in 2011;

The newly constructed Synevo central lab opens in April 2010;
First Medicover Hospital in Bucharest opens in 2011.
