WHO: Tanning in sun-beds causes cancer

In its statement WHO warns against tanning in sun-beds. Along with smoking, arsenic, asbestos, it is another important risk carcinogenic factor. When tanning in sun-beds the skin is exposed to UV rays 15 x higher than tanning at Mediterranean sea at noon. This problem has become more serious are tanning devices are frequently used by young people before the age of 30. Regular tanning in sun-beds enhances the risk of cancer occurrence by 75 percent. In some European countries specialist are starting to call for imposing regulations on usage of tanning devices, may well, total ban on using of these devices for young people, under the age of 18. So far doctors in Germany have succeeded in putting these regulations through.
