The Endoscopic Unit

The Endoscopic Unit at the Medicover Hospital offers diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of colon and stomach disorders.

Anoscopy, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, rectoscopy, sigmoidoscopy are the endoscopic examinations performed at the Medicover Hospital.

Our specialists gastroenterologists can detect even the smallest colon or stomach disorders with the modern equipment of the very high resolution vision system.

The high-tech equipment guarantees proper diagnosis, and in case of any revealed disorders provides a possibility of immediate treatment (e.g. polypectomy, i.e. polyp removal, or argon coagulation – commonly referred to as drying).

Our advantage is the possibility of performing diagnostic examination simultaneously with a procedure. In case of diagnosing disorders requiring surgery (for example colon neoplasm), our surgeons provide competent consultations and then plan and perform proper surgeries.

Depending on the needs and preferences of our patients, endoscopic examinations may be preformed under general anesthesia. Nursery care after the examination in the awakening room is guaranteed.

We do care about individual patients’ preferences and provide professional care, excellent stay conditions and medical safety (Surgery Clinic’s resources at patient’s disposal in case of complications after endoscopic examination).

All patients who have colonoscopy or gastroscopy referral are offered a possibility of simultaneous performance of those examinations under general anesthesia.

Colonoscopy is a procedure used in colon neoplasm prevention in 50+ patients. It is recommended to perform the procedure before the symptoms occur. It is a diagnostic procedure in case of constipation, diarrhoea or defecation rhythm changes.

Gastroscopy is a procedure used in epigastrium ailments, chronic gastric and duodenal ulcer disease and reflux disease.
