If they only had such an opportunity, as many as 84% of Poles would like to change something in their appearance. Almost half of the women would like to lose weight. We also dream of larger breasts, flat stomachs, prettier noses, more beautiful skin and less protruding ears.
At present, the most popular plastic surgery procedures among women are breast augmentation and liposuction. Blepharoplasty or face lift are procedures mostly performed by Poles over 40. Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a procedure popular among women after child-birth. Men most often decide on liposuction and gynecomasty (breast reduction).
The most popular trend in plastic surgery is the so-called “natural look”: changing your appearance in a subtle way, so that the body and face look well rested and young and not surgically improved.

In our hospital we offer a wide range of plastic surgeries
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
expand
The appearance of the eyes and their surrounding areas strongly influences the facial expression. It is the eyes that often tell a lot about our age or state of health. With time skin of the eyelids goes slack, the excess skin appears and the eyelids tend to sag. The face looks tired. It is not only an aesthetic but also a health issue – sagging eyelids and protruding skin often causes loss of peripheral vision.
Blepharoplasty is an aesthetic surgical procedure performed under local anaesthesia, aimed at:
- Improvement of baggy lower eyelids.
- Removal of excess skin and fat herniation of the upper eyelids.
The effect of the procedure is visual eyelid rejuvenation.
Eyelid correction is performed as an individual procedure or in combination with other rejuvenation procedures, e.g. face lift (rhytidectomy) or brow lift (browplasty). The surgery can be performed on the upper and lower eyelids. It consists in the removal of excess skin and fat herniation of the upper and lower eyelids. It aims not at the removal of wrinkles, crow feet, dark circles under the eyes or sagging eyebrows.
During the upper eyelids correction the surgeon performs an incision along the natural skin lines of the eyelids, cuts out the excess skin and orbicularis oculi muscle. This results in a significant deepening of the upper eyelid. The wound is sewn up with the use of a very thin surgical suture. The resulting scar is almost invisible.
Blepharoplasty of the lower eyelids consists in an incision below the eyelash edge, separation of the skin from the lower edge of orbital cavity and removal of excess adipose tissue, thanks to which the so-called adipose sacks under the eyes are removed. The last stage of the procedure is the removal of the excess skin.
Preparation for eyelid surgery procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV
- ECG
- Four weeks prior to the surgery, the number of smoked cigarettes must be significantly diminished.
- Fourteen days prior to the surgery it is necessary to discontinue taking analgesics containing salicylic acid and medicines containing aspirin.
After the surgery:
- Several hours after the surgery, the Patient leaves the hospital, and may return to normal activity after a few days.
- Surgical sutures are removed after one week.
- Oedema and bruising at the site of the procedure can persist up to two weeks.
- Recovery time is from 7 to 10 days on average.

Otoplasty (ear surgery)
expand
Protruding ears is a source of numerous complexes and emotional problems. It is conditioned genetically. This cosmetic defect cannot be eliminated by wearing close-fitting hats and headbands or by taping the ears. The only effective way to fight protruding ears is a plastic surgery which will cause a better adherence of the pinna to the head.
The corrective surgery of protruding ears is performed under local anaesthesia with the use of numerous surgical techniques through the incision in the posterior part of the pinna. During the surgery, the ear cartilage is modelled. Insoluble sutures are left in the cartilage in order to support the new shape. The scar remaining after the procedure is hidden behind the ear and becomes invisible with time.
Preparation for ear surgery procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV, ECG.
- Ten days prior to the surgery, the Patient should not take aspirin.
- For purely aesthetic reasons, it is worth to grow hair long as it will help to hide the signs of the surgery (especially important during the first days after the surgery).
After the surgery:
- After ear surgery, up to 2 weeks after the removal of ear sutures, the Patient has to wear a supportive headband.
- During the next 2 months the Patient has to wear the headband during the night.
- Full recovery after the procedure lasts around 2-3 weeks.

Rhytidectomy (face lift)
expand
Face lift is the most common method of giving the face a more youthful appearance. The procedure is performed under intravenous anaesthesia, either local or general. Its scope is individually adjusted to each Patient. Depending on the range of the surgery and the number of sites, the type of anaesthesia, period of surgery, size of the scars, course of recovery and the expected final result may differ. The surgery does not, however, delay the normal ageing process.
Face lift may cover the whole face or the selected areas changed by time.
Browplasty (forehead lift) – the correction is used to elevate the eyebrows which are sagging due to skin laxity or too low location. The incision is performed in the temple area. During the procedure the excess facial skin in being removed. It is the most common procedure, often performed as an introduction to correction of excess eyelid skin (eyelid surgery).
Forehead lift – during the surgery the excess skin on the forehead and on the temples is removed, and the position of the eyebrows is corrected.
Full face lift – the correction covers the forehead, temples, cheeks and neck. This procedure is performed in the case of advanced changes related to age or significant skin sagginess after a considerable loss of adipose tissue. The plastic surgeon performs the incision on the edge of the hair and forehead, through the temples, in front of the pinna and behind the ears. The surgery involves superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) with adjustment and removal of excess skin.
Lower face and neck lift – refers to the area around the cheeks and neck. This procedure is performed in the case of changes related to age or significant skin sagginess after a considerable loss of adipose tissue. The procedure results in tightening of the cheeks and of the face oval. The surgical incision is performed on the temples, in front of the pinna and behind the ears. The surgery involves superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) with adjustment and removal of excess skin from the face and neck.
Preparation for face lift procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV
- ECG
- chest X-ray
- Four weeks prior to the surgery, the number of smoked cigarettes must be significantly diminished.
- Fourteen days prior to the surgery it is necessary to discontinue taking analgesics containing salicylic acid and medicines containing aspirin.
After the surgery:
- The Patient stays in the hospital overnight. On the next day, the drains are removed and the bandage is replaced with a special elastic garment to be worn according to the surgeon’s orders.
- After 4 days the Patient can wash hair, and return to normal activity after around 7-10 days.
- Oedemas and bruising gradually diminish within two weeks.
- Scars after the surgery can be tanned only after a year. The time of full recovery is 14 days.

Rhinoplasty (nose job)
expand
Nose plastic surgery, performed under general anaesthesia, is aimed at correction of the cartilage skeleton, bone skeleton or both. The final shape of the nose is obtained by cutting out the structures responsible for deformation of the outer nose shape and by bone and cartilage grafts. Depending on the needs, incisions are being made only on the inside of the nose or an incision is added in the middle of the columella nasi, or at the base of the alaeque nasi. The procedure is ended with a suture of the skin and mucuous membrane incision, tamponade of the nasal tracts and immobilisation of the nose with the help of movable splints. The soluble sutures are used. The final result of the surgery is visible after a few weeks.
Preparation for rhinoplasty procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV
- Imaging examinations: ECG, chest X-ray
- Four weeks prior to the surgery, the number of smoked cigarettes must be significantly diminished.
- Fourteen days prior to the surgery it is necessary to discontinue taking analgesics containing salicylic acid and medicines containing aspirin.
After the surgery:
The Patient stays in the hospital overnight. During 24 hours after the surgery the Patient has setons in nostrils which press the inside of the nose and prevent bleeding. After the procedure the nose is very sensitive to all injuries. The immobilization is usually removed after 10 days. In the post-operative period, the Patient should avoid physical effort, should not do sports or use sunbeds or sauna..
Breast augmentation
expand
The procedure of breast augmentation is usually performed in women between 20 and 40 years old. The procedure usually lasts around 1.5 hours and is performed under general anaesthesia. It consists in placing silicone implants (insert, prothesis) under each breast in order to:
- Breast augmentation in women who consider their breasts too small
- Breast correction in women after pregnancy (supplementation of breast tissue deficit in sagging breast)
- Balancing the breast size in the case of asymmetry
Implants can be placed under the mammary gland, under the muscle, or both under the muscle and under the gland (dual plane). The location results from the build of the chest, thickness of tissues, degree of breast sagging and anatomical conditions. The location of the incision on the skin is often performed in the fold under the breast or on the edge of the aerola. The incision in the fold under the breast which does not injure the tissue of the mammary gland is preferred in young patients who could breastfeed in the future. We work exclusively with implants of the best world brands: Mentor and Allergan.
The size, volume, style and shape of the possible implants is determined individually for each patient.
Preparation for breast augmentation procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV, ECG, chest X-ray, breast US.
- Four weeks prior to the surgery, the number of smoked cigarettes must be significantly diminished.
- Fourteen days prior to the surgery it is necessary to discontinue taking analgesics containing salicylic acid and medicines containing aspirin.
- Patients over 50 years of age should provide the current mammography exam results.
After the surgery:
- After the surgery the Patient stays in the hospital overnight. On the next day, the drains are removed and the bandage is replaced with a special bra to be worn according to the surgeon’s orders. During the next 3-4 days, especially after placing the implants under the muscles, some pain may occur which may be diminished by taking the ordered drugs.
- After the procedure the sutures are removed after 7 to 10 days.
- The Patients return to normal activity after around 7-14 days. Only after placing the implants under the muscle, which involves its incision, physical exercise involving upper limbs should be avoided for a month. The special bra is to be worn according to the doctor’s orders.

Mastopexy (breast reshaping)
expand
The passage of time, pregnancy, breastfeeding, sudden weight gains and losses and gravity all contribute to the changes in the shape of women’s breasts. When the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often become deformed, they tend to sag, lose their youthful shape and firmness. The problem of sagging breasts refers more and more often to young mothers. Why? Poles decide to have children at an older age. Late motherhood is a big challenge for a woman’s body – the more mature a woman, the harder her body returns to the shape from before pregnancy. It is caused by changes in the collagen structure which make the skin less elastic and the tissues contract more slowly.
Breast reshaping is a surgery performed under general anaesthesia aimed at:
- Correcting the sagginess and reshaping of the breasts in order for them to look fresh and youthful.
- Improving the position and size of the nipple.
- Removal of excess skin
- Shaping of the mammary gland
- Breast augmentation with the removal of excess skin (lifting and augmentation).
A small breast sagginess can be corrected by using high-profile inserts, while retaining the appropriate width of their base (resulting from the width of the chest). The implants can be round or tear drop shaped (anatomical). The final breast shape after the procedure is visible after about 3 months. The effect lasts for a few or even more than a dozen years, and its durability depends on the Patient’s age, skin elasticity or body weight changes. It is advised to use appropriate scar reduction creams for a few months after the surgery.
Preparation for breast reshaping procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV, ECG, chest X-ray, breast US
- On the day of the procedure the Patient should be on an empty stomach (should not eat or drink).
- On the next day, the drains are removed and the bandage is replaced with a special bra to be worn according to the surgeon’s orders.
- Immediately after the surgery, some pain may occur which may be diminished by taking the ordered drugs.
- The Patient can return to normal activity after around 7-14 days. Physical exercise should be avoided for a month. In most cases sexual activity can be resumed after about 2 weeks.
- Scars after the surgery can be tanned only after a year.
- The special bra is to be worn according to the doctor’s orders.

Reduction mammoplasty (breast reduction)
expand
Back and arm pain, chafes, difficulty in doing sports and finding appropriate clothes, glances of people in the street are the main problems of women with too ample breasts. Too large breasts do not match the rest of the body, and by disturbing the figure proportions they make it more massive and heavy than in reality. Surgical breast reduction can end disagreeable health complaints, helps to obtain a more natural look and influences a better physical and mental state.
Breast reduction involves the removal of excess skin, subcutaneous tissue and the gland. The aim of the procedure is the reduction of the breast weight and its reconstruction in order to obtain an aesthetic breast shape. A safe limit for breast reduction is a reduction of 40-50% of the breast weight. This overgrowth is often related to breast sagginess, that is why during a breast reduction surgery the breasts are slightly lifted. The nipple-aerola complex is moved upwards together with the remaining part of the mammary gland.
Preparation for breast reduction procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV, ECG, chest X-ray, breast US
- On the day of the procedure the Patient should be on an empty stomach (should not eat or drink).

In the case skin elasticity is maintained, on general excess fat located in the arms (liposuction) is being removed. The incision is made in the middle of the posterior part of the arm to the level below the elbow so as not to be visible in the normal arm position. Post-operative scars are located on the inside of the arms. After the procedure, the smoothed out skin on the arms is reshaped.
Preparation for arm lift procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV
- ECG

There are many ways to get rid of extra kilos. Plastic surgery offers the procedure of removal of adipose tissue (liposuction). Liposuction is the most efficient way of removal of fat. The fat cells once removed do not regenerate and do not grow again. This does not, however, release the Patient from watching their figure. Liposuction is a procedure performed under local intravenous anaesthesia aimed at the removal of local excess adipose tissue (fat deposits). In women typical sites undergoing liposuction are the hips, the side parts of the thighs, the knees and the calves, and in men – the abdominal area. Other body parts from which adipose tissue can be removed are the chin, the arms, the breasts and the buttocks. During one procedure, the surgeon can safely remove 3-4 litres of adipose tissue. After an appropriate preparation, the removed fat can be used to fill other tissues, e.g. in the facial area (cheeks, furrows, lips). It is an additional procedure but it is possible to perform it simultaneously with liposuction. It is important to stress that liposuction is not a method of fighting obesity but a way to correct the body shape through action on adipose tissue.
Preparation for liposuction procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV
- ECG
- chest X-ray
- Four weeks prior to the surgery, the number of smoked cigarettes must be significantly diminished.
- Fourteen days prior to the surgery it is necessary to discontinue taking analgesics containing salicylic acid and medicines containing aspirin.
After the surgery:
- After the surgery the Patient wear a special elastic compression garment which promotes contraction of the skin and healing. It has to be worn for a long time, according to the plastic surgeon’s orders.
- After a few days it is advisable to start massages, and in the case of slack skin – procedures such as endermologies.
- The Patient can return to normal activity after around 2-3 weeks.
- The time of full recovery is 14 days.

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)
expand
Loose skin, excess adipose tissue and stretch marks on the abdomen are problems many women have to face after delivery or intensive weight loss. An unattractive and protruding belly disturbs the proportions of the whole figure and spoils people’s mental state. This type of defect cannot be removed by fitness, massages or cosmetics, although we always advise to try such methods. However, if they do not work, it is worth to consider a surgical correction of the belly shape.
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a serious plastic surgery performed under general anaesthesia, aimed at:
- Removal of excess slack tissue of the abdominal walls
- Strengthening of the tension of abdominal muscle fasciae
- Improvement of the defect in the case of muscular lacuna of the rectus abdominis muscle
- Correction of the mislocated belly button
The procedure involves a surgical removal of excess skin and adipose tissue from the middle and lower parts of the abdomen. It results in flattening of the abdomen and smoothing out of the stretch marks, which gives an effect of significant improvement of the figure proportions. One needs to remember that abdominoplasty is not a way to loose weight, but a method of figure reshaping. Depending on the size of the defect and the volume of tissues to be removed, after the surgery there will be only a crosswise scar on the abdomen or an additional vertical scar in the middle (upside down letter T).
Preparation for abdominoplasty procedure:
- Laboratory tests: blood group, blood count with peripheral blood smear, fasting glycaemia, electrolytes (Na, K, Ca), coagulation time and bleeding time (APTT, INR), HBsAg, Anti-HCV, HIV
- ECG
- chest X-ray
- Four weeks prior to the surgery, the number of smoked cigarettes must be significantly diminished.
- Fourteen days prior to the surgery it is necessary to discontinue taking analgesics containing salicylic acid and medicines containing aspirin.
After the surgery:
- The Patient stays in the hospital for two nights.
- Immediately after the surgery, some pain occurs which may be relieved by analgesics.
- At first the Patient spends most of the time in bed, in the lying or half-sitting position, with their knees placed higher.
- After a while, the physical activity level gradually increases. The special garment, which will replace the bandage, is to be worn according to the surgeon’s orders. Drains are removed during the follow-up visit after a few days. Sutures are removed not earlier than after 2 weeks.
- After the surgery, the Patient can return to normal activity after around 2-3 weeks.
- Physical exercise should be avoided for 3 months, and the Patient should not lift heavy objects for 6 months.
