The team of the Medicover Hospital doctors consists of professors (members of the Research Board), heads of departments and units and also consultants and specialists who fulfill the rigorous accreditation requirements of the Medicover Hospital. The accreditation system is aimed at assessing both the knowledge and the practical skills of every doctor cooperating with the Hospital. Direct and professional patient care is also provided by our team of highly qualified nurses.
The system of doctors-consultants in the Medicover Hospital enables its patients to choose the doctor from among both the doctors making a regular Hospital team and the accredited medical specialists from outside the staff of a specific department who, upon the patient’s wish, will be in charge of their treatment in the Medicover Hospital.
Each patient has his/her attending doctor who is selected, depending on the needs and medical indications, from among the doctors of the Medicover Hospital and doctors-consultants.
Your attending doctor:
- Introduces himself/herself during the first meeting;
- Is available and visits you every day;
- Checks your condition and performs medical examinations;
- Controls the results of additional tests and gives medical instructions;
- Consults other specialists, heads of departments and, if necessary, the Research Board about your condition and treatment methods;
- Discusses the methods of diagnostics and treatment with you and answers all your questions;
- Is available when needed.
The decision on the choice of the operating doctor who will perform surgery or specific diagnostic procedures and, if necessary, the doctor-consultant, is each time made individually with the participation of the patient.
Additional support is also provided in the form of consultations with heads of departments and the Research Board of the Medicover Hospital composed of professors in specific medical specialties.
