Department of Women’s Health

The Department of Women’s Health, including Gynecology and Pathology of Pregnancy, specializes in comprehensive, fully coordinated treatment of women. The most important rule governing the activity of the Department is team-based approach to the patient and her problems with the involvement of many specialists. Pathologists, gynecologists, radiologists, oncologists and other specialists regularly cooperate with one another, exchange knowledge and experience and thus ensure accurate diagnostics that draws from advanced skills and possibilities within the scope of surgery.

The Gynecology Unit provides a full range of medical services from preventive examinations to complicated surgery. We treat common diseases and disorders related to the female sex organs as well as gynecological problems affecting girls.

We also perform comprehensive preventive examinations and early diagnostics of cancer (endoscopy, laparoscopy, colposcopy, verification of incorrect cytological examinations).

Within the scope of the special program intended for adult women, we offer full assessment and treatment of health problems related to menopause, including osteoporosis, cardiological problems or chronic pelvic pain.

The most important activity areas of the Gynecology Unit include:

  • Diagnostics and treatment of abnormal genital bleeding;
  • Gynecology in childhood and adolescence;
  • Diagnostics and treatment of PCO (polycystic ovarian disease);
  • Diagnostics and treatment of endometriosis;
  • Examinations of couples with fertility problems (genetic, andronological, hormonal tests);
  • Treatment of gynecological disorders in women around menopause;
  • Counseling and treatment of problems related to sexual health.

The Department of  Women’s Health also provides medical services within the scope of oncologic gynecology. The offer of the Medicover Hospital includes:

The Pathology of Pregnancy Unit offers a wide range of services within diagnostics and management of high-risk pregnancies, including fetal developmental disorders. Such a vast scope of activity is possible thanks to, among others, the most advanced equipment for the diagnostics of fetal defects (magnetic resonance and ultrasound laboratories).
