Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

The Department of Children’s Health also includes the Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit intended for clinically unstable and seriously ill newborns requiring permanent neonatal care, respiratory assistance and other medical interventions.

The Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit includes:
 

  • 8-bed Observation Unit;
  • 2-station Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – for prematurely born infants or newborns requiring specialist care. The Unit has the equipment of the latest generation enabling infant ventilation and monitoring as well as the best incubators and equipment for transporting infants. Each baby is assigned one neonatal nurse. Newborns are taken care of by highly qualified and experienced specialist doctors;

4-bed Infant Monitoring Unit – for infants requiring specialist care with monitoring and/or supervision. The Unit is equipped with the equipment enabling phototherapy and feeding premature infants using the Kangaroo method, one of the modern care techniques aimed at strengthening close bonds between mother and child and ensuring a more convenient atmosphere for feeding.
