Department of Cardiology and Internal Medicine

The Internal Medicine Clinic and the Cardiology Clinic offer a wide range of medical services, aimed at the evaluation of patient’s state of health, diagnostics and treatment of internal diseases, with particular emphasis on heart diseases treatment.

Comprehensive evaluation of state of health, quick diagnoses of all internal diseases, and treatment of internal diseases (both prevalent and rare)
is carried out by:

  • Haemodynamics Unit (angioplasty and coronarography )
  • Echocardiological Unit (diagnostics and treatment of heart defects)
  • Stress Testing Unit  (diagnostics of coronary heart disease, dysrhythmia and heart failure)
  • Holter Monitor Test Unit (Holter Monitor Test)
  • Polysomnography Unit (examination and registering the human body functions in sleep)
  • Spirometry Unit (for diagnostics and control of treatment effects of prevalent diseases of the respiratory system)

Close cooperation with the hospital’s Diagnostic Centre enables performance of highly specialist, non-invasive diagnostic tests,
such as:

  • Vascular computed tomography (pulmonary and coronary angiography)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Ultrasonographic examination

Laboratory tests, essential in the diagnostics, are performed by SYNEVO Diagnostic Laboratory. This ensures fast access to the results, and makes it feasible to perform tests that are rarely done elsewhere (genetic testing).

The Internal Medicine Clinic and the Cardiology Clinic also specialise in comprehensive prophylactic examinations, i.e. Total Health Screening and Cardiac Screening.
Both prophylactic programmes offered at the Medicover Hospital enable quick and comprehensive completion of tests and examinations – all in one location, and under the supervision of the best specialists.

The Internal Medicine Clinic and the Cardiology Clinic consist of 24 beds in high-standard rooms. At our patients’ disposal, there are comfortable single and double rooms (and family rooms and suites as well).

In addition, at the Cardiology Clinic there is a modern Cardiology Intensive Care Unit. This four-bed unit is dedicated for hospitalisation of patients who require special intensive care – patients with severe heart condition, or patients after invasive cardiac procedures.

Patients staying at the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit remain under constant nursing and medical care. The equipment of this unit enables both central and bedside monitoring of bodily functions, and ensures comprehensive evaluations of patients’ condition.
