Discharge from the hospital

The patient is informed about the discharge date in advance.

Discharge is coordinated by the hospital care coordinator.
Matters related to child’s discharge are handled by his/her guardian.

On discharge day, the patient receives the information card which includes the most important information connected with the hospitalization such as: diagnosis, results of diagnostic and consultation tests, treatment undergone, instructions on further treatment, care, diet and lifestyle, proposals of further medical and nursing care, e.g. dates of follow-up visits, dressing changes, medications or other medical products recommended.


Payment for the treatment and stay in the Medicover Hospital should be made with the hospital care coordinator at the reception. Upon patient’s request, the hospital care coordinator will prepare a detailed list of all the charges.

Before leaving the hospital please remember to:

  • Check if you have not left any belongings in the room;
  • Collect your belongings deposited in the hospital safe;
  • Take the documents prepared for your discharge: the discharge card signed by the attending doctor, imaging results on a CD, results of outpatient tests performed both during the hospital stay and before the hospitalization outside the hospital. The patient can receive, upon his/her request, a detailed medical report.
  • Collect prescriptions and a referral to a follow-up visit from the attending doctor and remember the instructions concerning medication dosage and a proper diet. Prescriptions can be

The Medicover Hospital provides its patients with comprehensive medical care also after hospitalization. We offer:

  • A follow-up visit in the hospital;
  • Further treatment on an outpatient basis based on the cooperation between the attending doctor and the outpatient care doctor;
  • Issuing sick leave in the case of the inability to resume work.
