Patient’s rights and responsibilities Patient’s Charter*

We ensure your right to:
1. Privacy and dignity irrespective of age, nationality, race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, outlook on life and health conditions.
2. Respectful care provided by all members of hospital staff regardless of your physical or mental condition.
3. Receive comprehensible and reliable information about your condition.
4. Obtain information about the diagnostic plan, treatment and nursing care as well as possible effects of undergoing or quitting the treatment.
5. Make a decision about your health and agree or refuse a specific treatment option.
6. Be discharged from the hospital upon your request and receive information about possible effects of quitting the treatment in the hospital.
7. Receive information on the medicines recommended, their mechanism of action and possible side effects.
8. Know the first and last name, title and function of all persons involved in your care.
9. Learn which member of the hospital staff is in charge of your treatment and care and how to contact them.
10.  Get a second opinion from another doctor or nurse (midwife).
11.  Receive written permission for surgery, treatment method and high-risk diagnostic tests.
12.  Receive high quality care, treatment and recommendations consistent with current medical knowledge.
13.  Additional nursing care provided by a family member, a friend or a person that you indicate.
14.  Be accompanied by a person indicated by you in the process of treatment. Nevertheless, medical personnel has a right to refuse the presence of your companion due to your medical safety or if this constitutes epidemiological risk for other patients’ safety.
15.  Treat visitors with respect and dignity.
16.  Be ensured confidentiality of your medical records and any information concerning you that was obtained during the treatment process.
17.  Be provided access to medical documentation concerning your condition and healthcare provided.
18.  Receive treatment in safe, comfortable conditions and be ensured the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
19.  Obtain information about hospitalization costs before being admitted to the hospital and starting the treatment.
20.  Be able to share your opinions on the hospital stay and treatment with the personnel.
21.  Meet basic religious needs.


We ask you to:
1. Provide the medical personnel with complete information on your health, allergies and diseases developed in the past.
2. Ask questions which will ensure us that you fully understand doctor’s instructions as well as a diagnostic and treatment plan proposed.
3. Obey the agreed diagnostic and treatment plan as well as doctor’s instructions.
4. Respect other patients and visitors’ rights as well as personal dignity of hospital staff.
5. Cover the costs of your stay and treatment received in the hospital as well as the costs related to your visitors’ stay in the hospital.
