In response to Covid-19 in 2020, Medicover opened dedicated centres and a specialised Covid-19 laboratory in Ukraine and a Test & Fly Covid-19 centre at Munich airport. The sports and fitness and dental businesses expanded in Poland. The Synevo Decoder digital service was launched in Romania, allowing patients to have virtual consultations with laboratory doctors.
Medicover Romania announced in 2021 a greenfield investment in Bucharest for the development of an ultra-modern hospital. Medicover also invested in fertility businesses in Norway and Denmark.
In 2022 Medicover continued to expand in Poland through the acquisition of dental, gym and medical centres and received the prestigious Service Quality Star award. Medicover also acquired Nasz Lekarz, a medical clinic network and leading clinical research network in Poland and several laboratory businesses in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, Greece and Poland.
Medicover opened a multi-speciality hospital in Navi Mumbai, India, and a women and children’s hospital in Hyderabad, India. The same year, 2023, Medicover Hospital Wilanów introduces MRgFUS treatment, which enables non-invasive therapy for treating essential tremors and Parkinson’s disease.
2024, Medicover Genetics acquired MVZ Humangenetik Köln, expanding its network of genetic counselling centres and laboratories in Germany. A new prostate treatment centre opens at Medicover Hospital in Bucharest. The Medicover customer contact centre receives an award in the best employer category at the Polish contact centre awards. Medicover opens two new hospitals Bangalore and Warangal, India.
2025 – Medicover celebrates 30 years of care, innovation, and impact. Medicover also acquired operations from SYNLAB in Romania, Turkey, Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia and North Macedonia. In 2025 Medicover also acquired CityFit, a network of 26 fitness clubs across Poland and John Stubbington becomes new Medicover CEO.
