Medicover Foundation

Volunteering is one of the core pillars of the Medicover Foundation and a true reflection of the social commitment of Medicover employees. Each year, hundreds of employees dedicate their time and energy to help those in need within their local communities. They organise charity activities, sporting and educational events, deliver health workshops for children and seniors, and provide support to individuals who are ill, living with disabilities, experiencing poverty, or facing difficult life circumstances and humanitarian crises.

Many Medicover employees are driven by the desire to make a difference in their local communities. Acting for Others is a recurring internal grant programme that enables Medicover employees to implement their own social projects, turning ideas into impactful community initiatives.

FitSchool is an innovative Medicover Foundation programme designed for primary schools and preschools, rolled out in Poland, Romania, and Sweden. Its goal is to inspire children to adopt healthier habits through  physical activityand better nutrition and improve mental health. By harnessing digital technologies, FitSchool successfully and actively engages the younger generation in developing healthy lifestyle habits. In Poland, FitSchool is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

ESMS is a pioneering digital tool supporting mandatory health screening for children and adolescents at school. As the first system of its kind in Poland, ESMS digitalizes health check-ups, aggregates health data, and provides real-time feedback and recommendations to parents, along with statistics for local and national healthcare authorities –contributing to long-term improvements in children's health. The Medicover Foundation also acts as an expert in consultations on legislative changes regarding school healthcare.

The Queen Silvia Nursing Award (QSNA) is a prestigious scholarship for nurses, held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden and organized in Poland by the Medicover Foundation. The competition promotes the nursing profession, supports both professional and personal growth, and encourages the development of innovative, effective solutions in senior care and in supporting individuals living with dementia. The initiative is founded on strong collaboration with nursing universities and the Supreme Council of Nurses and Midwives in Poland.

The Medicover Foundation is a partner of the Repower Programme, which focuses on the psychological rehabilitation of Ukrainian military medics suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), burnout, and the long-term effects of combat exposure.

Since the onset of the crisis in Ukraine, the Medicover Foundation has been actively involved in humanitarian aid—organizing support for refugees, providing medical care for Ukrainian children through Medicover outpatient clinics across Poland, and establishing an emergency children’s healthcare facility in Lviv.

The Medi-COVER Band is a music group composed of talented and passionate Medicover employees who have been performing charity concerts for many years. All proceeds from their performances are donated to meaningful causes, including music therapy and social integration programs.

PoZdro (Poland) and înCerc (Romania) are large-scale, high-impact programmes for the prevention of type 2 diabetes and lifestyle-related diseases, implemented by the Medicover Foundation in Poland and Romania. These initiatives combine school-based health screenings with a two-year cycle of tailored specialist interventions, effectively addressing the growing challenge of childhood overweight, obesity, and related health conditions. Recognized for their quality, innovation, and measurable results, both programmes have significantly contributed to improving children's health and raising awareness of preventive care across local communities.

Annual Report of the Medicover Foundation 2025

Nutrition for Superheroes is a creative educational campaign in Romania. The campaign promotes healthy eating among children through engaging, play-based learning. The initiative was recognized with the 2024 Community Index Award in Romania for its impact on nutrition education and child health promotion.
